Miss Suzy is one of Sligo’s newest dining destinations, bringing bold Korean and Japanese flavours to the heart of the town. To create an interior that felt warm, distinctive and immersive, the owners partnered with Irish Time Design (ITD), led by Tom Laverty.
After being introduced to Wonderwall Studios through Surface Wow, the team selected Silver — reclaimed teak panels that bring subtle tonal variation and texture, ideal as a wooden wall feature that feels both refined and expressive. Each panel is individually sourced from abandoned structures and reworked into beautiful handcrafted wood panels with a past life and a future purpose, making them a natural fit for a project rooted in sustainable wood panels and responsible material reuse.
Asian influences were central to the brief, shaping both mood and material palette. The design called for a premium wood panel solution that felt authentic, tactile and sustainable, with a focus on natural materials both internally and externally.
The finished space balances contemporary restaurant design with natural materiality. The reclaimed teak creates warmth and rhythm throughout the interior while extending to the exterior, giving Miss Suzy a strong street presence. The premium wood panelling adds depth and authenticity, reinforcing the Asian-inspired concept without feeling over-designed — demonstrating how a well-executed wooden wall panel solution can transform both hospitality interiors and exteriors.
