Olivia and Fergal had big plans. They had decided to remodel the house and build on a much bigger kitchen.
However, because of planning and sourcing builders, they knew this wasn’t going to happen anytime soon.
Yet every morning Olivia came into the kitchen and didn’t like what she saw. The kitchen was falling apart, the counter tops were wearing away and the tiles were cracked. There had to be a solution that wasn’t overly expensive yet durable.
Enter SurfaceWow.
Olivia discovered SurfaceWow from a friend. She didn’t know that such an idea existed.
After talking with the SurfaceWow representative, she decided on a number of finishes to the architectural film that would wrap her kitchen units and counter. She decided to update the colour of her counter tops. The original was a dark wood so she chose a vintage light oak finish which brightened up the kitchen instantly.
The doors were a bit more problematic to wrap. Shaker style kitchens, especially those with tongue and groove, were on trend a number of years ago. This was the style that Olivia and Fergal had chosen a decade earlier.
The SurfaceWow representative came up with a solution that covered the doors in a light weight aluminium completely changing the style of the door from having deep groves to being flat. This enabled Olivia to choose a colour and finish from over 300 finishes. She chose pure white to go with the new light oak finish counter. They also got new handles and replaced the old ones.
The only thing left to restyle were the tiles. The tiles were white which didn’t match the new kitchen unit white and Olivia and Fergal wanted to add a splash of colour to the kitchen.
Taking them down would have been a mess and the SurfaceWow kitchen is designed to be mess and stress free. Because SurfaceWow know surface materials, we designed a look that would add a pop of colour that exactly matched the style of the old tiles. This was digitally printed on a material that would stick and cover over the old tiles.
The result was amazing, it completely changed the look and style of the kitchen. This modern kitchen was upgraded by simply wrapping the units, counter and tiles. And would you believe, two years on, Olivia and Fergal still love it. The building work is yet to begin.
